Created for my Foundations of Legal Informatics course, this project proposed the development of a secure paperless case management and data protection system for a criminal defense law firm. The proposal combined legal ethics, cybersecurity, workflow automation, and operational strategy to address confidentiality risks associated with paper files and unsecured digital storage. Through the design of a cloud-based “Paperless Defense System,” the project explored how legal technology, encryption protocols, metadata organization, access controls, and staff training can improve both efficiency and ethical compliance within modern legal practice.
